Hi, I’m Linda — the designer behind Stouto Creative Crochet, where I create original crochet patterns, granny square designs, crochet blanket patterns, and downloadable PDF patterns for makers who love colour, texture, creativity, and the joy of handmade projects.

My crochet journey began with a simple love for yarn, but over time it grew into a passion for designing unique patterns that combine creativity, practicality, and beautiful stitch detail. I am inspired by the world around me, especially the incredible colours, shapes, and flowers found in South African nature. Many of my floral granny square designs, stitch sampler blankets, and textured crochet projects are influenced by these natural elements.

Creating a crochet pattern involves much more than writing instructions. Every design begins with an idea and develops through planning, experimenting, crocheting, testing, refining, and perfecting the final result.

My daily design process includes:

I love exploring crochet stitches, textures, and colour combinations. From detailed stitch sampler blankets and flower-inspired designs to simple beginner-friendly projects, I enjoy creating patterns that are both beautiful and practical.

Some of my favourite designs include temperature blankets, floral afghans, granny square collections, textured blankets, and projects that allow crocheters to learn new techniques while creating something special.

My goal is always to write patterns that are clear, approachable, and easy to follow — whether you are making your first crochet project or adding another handmade treasure to your collection.

I have a special love for crochet bags. After creating my first handmade bag, I became fascinated with designing pieces that are not only beautiful but also useful in everyday life.

My collection includes crochet tote bags, handbags, canteen-style bags, and other practical accessories designed for makers who enjoy creating items they can use and enjoy.

Creating For Every Season

I enjoy designing projects throughout the year — cosy blankets and textured pieces for colder months, and lighter designs such as lacy scarves, accessories, and breathable crochet projects for warmer seasons.

Alongside being a crochet designer, I am also a website developer and digital creator. I manage my own online platforms, create educational resources, improve website experiences, and build tools such as crochet calculators and helpful guides to support the crochet community.
